Lambda by Christian Marasme

Lambda is at once a detective novel, an account of a collapsed marriage, and an excavation of the buried secrets of St. Louis. In a quiet suburban neighborhood a young man named Leo Gamble searches for clues about his wife’s mysterious disappearance. Soon he finds himself looking for her in an underworld lying just beneath the placid surface of the city. As his search gains momentum, Leo encounters a bizarre group of allies and antagonists: a cheerfully abnormal nine-year-old girl; an old girlfriend; a malevolent corporate lawyer; and an aging businessman who is permanently changed by the horrible injury he sustained in an assassination attempt. Gripping, penetrating, suffused with black comedy and danger, Lambda is an ambitious foray into the dark heart of the Midwest.

This includes Middle of Nowhere as Part 1, along with the 2nd and 3rd Books in a single volume with cover art by Satoshi Aizawa (Twitter.)
